ThermionicScott , Apr 5, Don't miss the Woodstock experience: Ive done it without a bias tool on quite a few Marshalls but this looks like different Those old migs were cool I worked on several of them in the 90's The board layouts were a mirror image of most other amps Other than that, I don't remember a whole bunch about them. Ok so I just received this amp about 20 minutes ago and have been playing it for about 15 minutes, aside from a stratchy pot or 2 and a little rust it seems like it's in amazing condition. Is this in fact a voltage switch?
Sovtek Mig-50 as a bass head?
My friend wants me to go through his Sovtek head and fix a few issues he is having. Share This Page Tweet. If I were to get one of those, the first thing I'd do is swap them out. I know the midget had a gain volume, and had a lot more gain than mine. I think the midget 50h is a smaller headbox. We used to be able to get these for like a bucks here. Oct 22, Messages:

So what I need to do is throttle it back a little and keep the character that the bypass cap gave me. Watch for the input jack rings, the plastic can break, I've had to replace both of mine on the Tube Midget. It is more or less a clone with minor tonal variations. When I had it I didn't really pay too much attention to the cleans since I was all about distortion distortion and distortion back then. I too thought the amp was harsh, but it was ok for what I was doing with it. Chalk it up to components and how they age I guess. Was missing the 15pF cap on plate and grid of first tube.
